Former Bryant and Duke head coach Mike Pressler has been named the head coach and general manager of Atlas LC, the Premier Lacrosse League announced Thursday.
Pressler retired from Bryant last June and was named the head coach of Highland Park (Tex.) High School later that week. Steven Brooks and Kevin Unterstein were named Pressler’s assistants on the Atlas. Brooks led the Atlas to a runner-up finish in last week’s PLL Championship Series as the interim head coach.

Pressler spent 16 years at Bryant, taking the Bulldogs to six NCAA tournaments. One of the winningest coaches in NCAA lacrosse history, Pressler finished his career at Bryant with a 153-103 (.598) record. Pressler also spent 16 seasons at Duke and one year at Ohio Wesleyan.
In 37 seasons as an NCAA head coach, Pressler won an 382 games, retiring eighth on the all-time wins list. He was the ACC Coach of the Year three times and the National Coach of the Year in 2005. His teams made 20 NCAA tournaments.
Pressler was the head coach of the 2010 U.S. men’s national team that won a gold medal at the ILF World Championships in Manchester, England. He was an assistant on the U.S. team that won gold in 2002.
