Following Peter Milliman's departure for Johns Hopkins, which was officially announced today, Cornell wasted little time in solidifying who will man the sideline next season.

Connor Buczek, a current Cornell assistant, will be named the team's interim head coach, as reported by John Johnson II of Spectrum News - CNY.

Because of Cornell's current hiring freeze, the university is unable to conduct a national search for Milliman's successor. Johnson II reports, however, that Buczek will be in consideration for the full-time position.

Buczek was a three-time All-American at Cornell from 2013-15 and a current Premier Lacrosse League All-Star. He was a Major League Lacrosse All-Star from 2016-18. He was a volunteer assistant with the Big Red from 2015-17 before joining as a full-time assistant in 2017.

Buczek was a member of the U.S. indoor team in 2015 and a member of the 2018 training team. He was also a member of the U19 team in 2012.

This is a developing story. US Lacrosse Magazine will provide updates as needed.
