There is no one like Ric Beardsley in the lacrosse world — the personality, the moxie, the toughness, the grit, the social media presence. His personality is one of the most unique in the sport’s history, and he brings the same energy every single day.
A two-time national champion long stick midfielder at Syracuse, Beardsley finished his career as a four-time All-American. He then took his lacrosse IQ into a successful coaching career, working at the youth level, in high school at Christian Brothers Academy and in the professional ranks with Atlas LC up until this spring.
After decades in the game, Beardsley has experiences both on the field as a player and coach and in the industry working at Cascade. He knows he wants to stay in the sport as long as he can, as lacrosse has been an outlet for him to heal from trauma in his childhood.
Beardsley joined his former teammate, Paul Carcaterra, on Season 4, Ep. 7 of “Overtime,” sharing the makings of a lacrosse legend. The two talked about his upbringing, how he coped with his mother’s death at a young age and his approach to playing and coaching the game.
