Another week and another series of significant moves beyond the top five in the most recent Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25.

Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) and New Canaan (Conn.) used big wins to catapult into the rankings. Similarly, Bullis (Md.) and Mountain Lakes (N.J.) jumped into the top 25 as they proved themselves in tough matchups. Loyola Blakefield (Md.) also returned to the national rankings after a number of teams lost during the week.

While the top three teams remained intact, and undefeated, in the Northeast there was plenty of movement below. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), which defeated Garden City (N.Y.), and New Canaan (Conn.), which knocked off rival Darien (Conn.), made the biggest jumps.

The top four remain the same in the Mid-Atlantic again, though unbeaten St. Mary’s (Md.) needed overtime to get by Severna Park (Md.). Georgetown Prep (Md.) dropped one spot after its upset loss to Landon (Md.). Bullis (Md.) and Mountain Lakes (N.J.) jumped into the region’s top 10. Bullis defeated Gonzaga (D.C.) and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Md.) to propel itself. Mountain Lakes pulled away from Delbarton (N.J.) in a rivalry win. Behind them, Gonzaga (D.C.), Paul VI (Va.) and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Md.) along with Haverford (Pa.) and Landon (Md.) all suffered losses but remain in striking distance of the top 10.

The South saw strong representation from top-ranked Dallas Jesuit (Texas), which hung tough with Gonzaga (D.C.) before the game was called after the third quarter. St. Andrew’s (Fla.) looks poised for a regional run after winning its district. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) and Lake Mary (Fla.) also picked up titles to move up in the rankings, and Benjamin (Fla.) won a district crown to make its top-10 debut. A loss by Episcopal Dallas (Texas) allowed Westlake (Texas) to move into the top three. Lovett (Ga.) has ridden a perfect start into the rankings.

In the Midwest, it’s the week ahead that looks most interesting with the top three of Culver (Ind.), Loyola (Ill.) and St. Ignatius (Ohio) facing tough out-of-state competition. Upper Arlington (Ohio) gained respect with a pair of solid wins. Newcomer Hudson (Ohio) has played well in the early going despite some losses and moves into the top 10 of the region.

In the West, Valor Christian (Colo.) made a big jump up to No. 5 from 10 after knocking off former No. 3 Mountain Vista (Colo.). Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) rode three recent wins up to the No. 6 spot. Several of the region’s teams will travel this week and have the chance to make noise nationally.

1. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 7-0

The Friars flexed their muscles in the first of three rivalry meetings with Chaminade (N.Y.), winning 19-10 on the road. Jack Ponzio had four goals and four assists, Michael Leo had four goals and two assists, Patrick Carragher added three goals and one assist and Owen Duffy added two goals and three assists for the Friars, who pulled away after the Flyers cut their deficit to 10-8 early in the third quarter. 2. Mt. Sinai (N.Y.), 9-0

The Mustangs made it 9-0 by doubling up Miller Place, 18-9, on April 14. Joey Spallina went casual with a 10-point game (7 goals, 3 assists), while James Carretta and Jake Spallina had three goals and one assist apiece and Lucas LaForge added a pair of goals. Previous: 2

3. Brunswick School (Conn.), 6-0

After a 15-11 win at Lawrenceville (N.J.), the Bruins knocked off Seton Hall Prep (N.J.), 13-5, on April 16 powered by eight unanswered goals in the second quarter. Tomas Delgado scored a game-high three goals, Will Erdmann scored twice in that second quarter and added an assist, Leo Hoffman had one goal and two assists in the win. Previous: 3

4. Manhasset (N.Y.), 5-0

The Indians went on the road to defeat Ridgefield (Conn.), 17-11, on April 14. Liam Connor had four goals, Dawson Rielly had three goals and two assists and Hunter Panzik and Joey Terenzi added three goals apiece for the Indians. Previous: 5

5. Shoreham-Wading River (N.Y.), 6-0

Alec Gregorek and Liam Kershis had three goals and two assists apiece, Liam Gregorek had three goals and one assist, Alex Kershis had two goals and one assist, Steven Cain had one goal and two assists and Jayden Galfano made 18 saves in a 14-7 win over East Islip (N.Y.). Previous: 10

6. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 5-0

Jake Rogers had four goals and three assists, C.J. Reilly and Max Hawkinson had two goals apiece and Spencer Will made 11 saves in a 9-7 win at Garden City (N.Y.) on April 14, the signature win of the season for the undefeated Seahawks. Previous: NR

The Rams split a pair of one-goal games — losing to Radnor (Pa.) 9-8 in double overtime and beating Bronxville (N.Y.), 9-8 — before a monumental 11-10 win over Darien (Conn.) at Dunning Field on April 16. Carter Connors scored four goals, Vin Cognetta and Doster Crowell each scored a pair of goals in New Canaan’s first win over Darien since 2015. Previous: NR

8. Darien (Conn.), 3-1

After a dominant win over Ridgefield (Conn.) on April 12, Darien suffered a rare loss to New Canaan (Conn.) on April 16. Joe Cesare had three goals, Brady Pokorny and Finn Pokorny scored two goals apiece and Matthew Minicus had one goal and two assists for the Blue Wave, who scored four unanswered fourth-quarter goals, but their rally fell just short. Previous: 4

9. Victor (N.Y.), 5-0

Thomas Gravino had three goals, one assist and eight ground balls, Pax Marshall and Kyle Saeger struck for three goals each, Jack Hereneen had one goal and four assists and Sam Gotham added one goal and one assist for Victor in an 11-5 win over Niskayuna (N.Y.) on April 16. Previous: NR

10. Briarcliff (N.Y.), 5-1

The Bears bounced back from a 15-6 loss at No. 1 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) last weekend to defeat Lakeland-Panas (N.Y.) 15-5 on April 16. Elliot Jones scored five goals, Brandon Rispoli and Nico Santucci scored three goals apiece and Jack Ricciardi added three assists in the win. Previous: NR

MID-ATLANTIC TOP 10

1. St. John’s College High (D.C.), 12-0

The Cadets remained perfect with a 13-5 win over Bishop Ireton (Va.) in their only game last week. Overall, they have outscored teams, 186-63. St. John’s can turn its attention now to a huge No. 1 vs. No. 2 national showdown with St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) on April 22. Previous: 1

2. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 8-1

The Cardinals blew by Kent Island (Md.) 18-4 on April 11 for their eighth straight win since an opening game loss to St. John’s (D.C.). Dom Pietramala had 10 points on six goals and four assists, Spencer Ford scored twice and provided three assists, and Connor Sydnor had two goals and two assists. Boys’ Latin faces Severn (Md.) on April 19 before taking on Archbishop Spalding (Md.) on April 22. Previous: 2

3. St. Mary’s (Md.) 11-0

The Saints edged Severna Park (Md.) 12-11 in overtime in their second game of the Public Versus Private Challenge at Broadneck (Md.). James Kucinski had the tying goal and the game-winner. Nick Golini and Will Hopkins each had hat trick. Bobby Keane also scored two goals. St. Mary’s had no trouble with Broadneck (Md.) in a 16-4 rout. Golini had seven goals and Hopkins scored five times. They’ll try to keep their No. 3 ranking when they play No. 4 McDonogh (Md.) on April 19. Previous: 3

4. McDonogh (Md.), 7-3

The Eagles breezed by Hill School (Pa.) 12-3 in their only game of the week. They have a key matchup against St. Mary’s (Md.) on April 19 that could help them move up in the rankings. It’s part of a big week that also includes Calvert Hall on April 22. Previous: 4

5. Archbishop Spalding (Md.), 7-2

The Cavaliers did not play this week. They have won five of their last six games. They host Mater Dei (Calif.) on April 19 and then take on Boys’ Latin (Md.) on April 22 in a challenging MIAA A matchup. Previous: 6

6. Georgetown Prep (Md.), 7-4

Nathan Kabiri tied the game with 5:24 left off a pass from Colin Burns, but the Hoyas lost to Landon (Md.) 6-5 on a goal with 2:39 to go in the fourth quarter. Georgetown defeated Episcopal (Va.) 14-3 on April 14 with Owen Horning scoring six goals and goalie Peter Flannery pitching a second-half shutout for the winners. Previous: 5

7. Calvert Hall (Md.), 8-3

The Cardinals look to get back to winning when they return from a week off. Calvert Hall plays at John Carroll (Md.) on April 19 and then hosts McDonogh (Md.) for a chance to improve their ranking. Previous: 7

8. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 8-2

The Friars used a huge second-half effort to overtake Haverford (Pa.) 13-6 on April 12. Malvern trailed 5-4 at halftime before a 5-1 third quarter propelled them into the lead and a 4-0 fourth quarter edge cemented a big win. AJ Nikolic scored five goals and added an assist. Ennis Edo had a hat trick and an assist, and Joe Doherty made 12 saves for a defense that survived a big faceoff disadvantage (6-for-21). They also defeated Episcopal (Pa.) 16-7 with Jack Irish scoring four times and assisting one goal. John Majka had a hat trick and Mike Ortlieb had three assists. Previous: 8

9. Bullis (Md.) 7-4

The Bulldogs are finally at full strength, and it has started to show. The return of two starting midfielders and their LSM has helped Bullis reel off three straight wins including two last week over teams previously ranked higher. Bullis stopped Gonzaga (D.C.) 13-7, then followed it up with a 13-11 win over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Md.) behind a seven-goal, one-assist game from Chase Band. They will try to sustain momentum this week with back-to-back games against Delmar (Del.) and Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) before returning to lead play with Episcopal (Va.). Previous: NR

10. Mountain Lakes (N.J.), 6-0

The Jersey power is off to a perfect start. Reid Tietjen had three goals and four assists to pace the offense in their most impressive win to date, a 14-9 triumph over Delbarton (N.J.) on April 16 in the 75th meeting between the two programs. Mountain Lakes held an 8-6 halftime lead before stretching ahead in the second half to give head coach Tim Flynn his 699^th career win. Their closest game this season was a 10-9 win over Bergen Catholic (N.J.). They face a huge test with Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) on April 23 and Ridgewood (N.J.) follows. Previous: NR

1. Dallas Jesuit (Texas), 11-2

The Rangers were unable to complete their highly anticipated matchup against Gonzaga (D.C.) due to weather. Gonzaga led 7-6 through three quarters. Penn State recruit McAllister Hobbs notched a hat trick before play halted. Dallas Jesuit then defeated Highland Park (Texas) 13-5 thanks to four first-quarter goals by sophomore Beckett Foley. 2. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 15-3

The Scots are off to the regional quarterfinals after defeating Cardinals Gibbons (Fla.) 17-3 followed by a district championship win over Pine Crest (Fla.) 10-6. Jack Schulte scored five goals and had six assists against Cardinal Gibbons. Schulte added a hat trick against Pine Crest. Previous: 2

3. Westlake (Texas), 9-3

The Chapperals defeated Skyline Seattle (Wash.) 17-5. Westlake closed the week by defeating Vandegrift (Texas) 21-4. Westlake ends the regular season this week against Austin (Texas). Previous: 4

4. Episcopal School of Dallas (Texas), 15-3

The Eagles week started off with a cancellation against Gonzaga (D.C.). The week ended by dropping a 13-12 contest against St. Mark’s (Texas). ESD closes out the regular season this week against Southlake (Texas). Previous: 3

5. Holly Springs (N.C.), 12-2

The Golden Hawks had the week off and return to play April 19 against Green Hope (N.C.). Previous: 7

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 12-3

The Raiders claimed a division championship on April 14 by defeating Western (Fla) 21-10. Two days earlier, St. Thomas Aquinas beat South Plantation (Fla.) 19-2. Previous: 9

The Rams earned a district title April 14 by defeating Oviedo (Fla.) 15-1. Two days prior, Lake Mary opened the playoffs with a 14-4 win over Hagerty (Fla.). Previous: 10

The Longhorns had their 15-game winning streak to start 2022 snapped by Pope (Ga.) in a crushing 6-5 defeat. Prior to the loss, Lambert defeated South Forsyth (Ga.) 6-2. Previous: 5

9. Benjamin (Fla.), 14-3

The Buccaneers enter the regional rankings for the first time thanks to a 16-6 victory over St. Edward’s (Fla.) in the district championship. 10. Lovett (Ga.), 15-0

The Lions join the regional top 10 after winning their first 15 games of the season. Lovett is coming off a 21-5 win over Greater Atlanta Christian (Ga.) and a 11-9 win over Starr’s Mill (Ga.). 1. Culver Academy (Ind.), 7-2

After a full week without games, the Eagles returned to action with a big contest against Hill Academy (Ontario) on Monday (they won 13-7) and an equally big weekend with showdowns at St. Ignatius (Ohio) and Kiski Prep (Pa.). Previous: 1

2. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 6-0

The Ramblers picked up an impressive 14-6 victory at neighbor and rival New Trier (Ill.). Next up for Loyola is a much longer trip through Springside Chestnut Hill (Pa.), Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) and Haverford School (Pa.). Previous: 2

3. St. Ignatius (Ohio), 7-1

The Wildcats enjoyed a quiet week following back-to-back victories over Dublin Jerome (Ohio) and Hartland (Mich.). The quiet comes to an end with two games this week, including hosting Midwest power Culver (Ind.). Previous: 3

4. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 8-0

The Golden Bears' perfect record was tested April 16 evening as Upper Arlington trailed Hudson 10-7 after three quarters. The Golden Bears finished the evening with an 8-2 fourth quarter, capping an impressive week that also saw them double up on Show-Me State power MICDS (Mo.). Previous: 4

5. Brother Rice (Mich.) 4-1

After a second straight dominant performance, this time topping University Detroit Jesuit (Mich.) 20-2, the Warriors are headed to the Empire State for games against St. Joseph Collegiate, Canandaigua and Victor. Previous: 5

6. Dublin Jerome (Ohio), 6-1

The Celtics bounced back from a tough loss to St. Ignatius (Ohio) with a pair of impressive wins over Archbishop Moeller (Ohio) and Hartland (Mich.). Marek Tzagournis led the way with a five-goal, five-assist performance against the Eagles while Brady White was superb in net. Previous: 6

7. MICDS (Mo.), 8-1

The Rams were even with the Golden Bears after a quarter before Upper Arlington (Ohio) ran away thanks to an 11-1 second stanza. Still, Mark Mintzlaff tallied a hat trick for MICDS while PJ Behan, Landon Gelven and Bjorn Sjogren also tallied multiple goals. Previous: 7

8. Forest Hills Central (Mich.), 4-0

The Rangers began conference play with a decisive victory over Grand Rapids Central Catholic (Mich.). FHC next has home games against Caledonia (Mich.) and Orchard Lake St. Mary's (Mich.) followed by a tough road trip to Brighton (Mich.) on April 23. Previous: 8

9. Hudson (Ohio), 6-3

The Explorers have been able to score against anyone and everyone with nine-plus goals in every game they've played, including a 17-9 victory over St. Edward (Ohio) on April 13. Hudson even gave Upper Arlington a scare April 16, leading after three quarters before the Golden Bears rallied in the fourth. Previous: NR

10. Hartland (Mich.), 2-3

The Eagles have lost three of their first five, but all three came to top-ranked teams in Brother Rice (Mich.), St. Ignatius (Ohio) and Dublin Jerome (Ohio). Previous: 9

WEST TOP 10

1. Mater Dei (Calif.), 12-1

The Monarchs added wins this week against St. John Bosco (Calif.), 16-8, and Santa Margarita (Calif.), 18-3. Seniors Rowan Piani and Grant Portillo each scored three goals against St. John Bosco, while Lucas de La Paz went 20-of-27 on faceoffs. Against Santa Margarita, Nate Chu led the attack with four goals, while Reece Lapham and Portillo each added three goals, and de la Paz chipped in three assists on top of winning 20 of 22 faceoffs. Mater Dei will spend spring break next week in Maryland with three games on the slate. Previous: 1

2. Corner Canyon (Utah), 9-1

The Chargers bounced back from their overtime loss to Corona del Mar (Calif.) to beat Lone Peak (Utah) 13-1 and Skyridge (Utah) 21-3 last week. Mason Quick finished with a team-high seven points on five goals and two assists against Lone Peak, while John King also added five goals to go with one assist. Anthony Mackay registered eight ground balls and won 11 of 17 faceoffs. Previous: 2

3. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 11-2

The Sea Kings survived another close test against Loyola-Los Angeles (Colo.), pulling out an 8-7 decision on Jack Dickson’s third goal for the winner. Ty Caffarelli added two goals, and Tyler Brown led the defense with three ground balls. Their spring break trip to Santa Barbara on April 16 yielded a more comfortable victory. 4. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 8-1

The Raiders shut out Highlands Ranch (Colo.) 18-0 in their only game of the week, pushing their win streak to seven games since an overtime loss to Corona del Mar. They are back in action April 19 at Chaparral (Colo.). Previous: 5

5. Valor Christian (Colo.), 8-1

Gunnar Fellows scored five goals to lead the Eagles to a 14-13 win over former No. 3 Mountain Vista (Colo.) on April 15 in their first meeting since the Class 5A state final last year, which Valor Christian lost in overtime. This game was just as close, but Valor came back in the fourth quarter for the win. The Eagles, whose lone loss was to Texas powerhouse Episcopal School of Dallas, also collected a 6-3 win over Legend (Colo.) last week. Previous: 10

6. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 13-3

The Knights survived a scare to beat Los Alamitos 11-10 in overtime on April 13, avoiding a huge letdown after a notable 7-6 win over Corona del Mar the previous week. Then, they earned a notable 12-6 win over former No. 7 Torrey Pines (Calif.) on April 16. Previous: 8

7. St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.), 14-1

The Tartans outscored St. Francis-La Canada (Calif.) and Sierra Canyon (Calif.) 33-7 last week, and they head into their big matchup April 19 with Torrey Pines (Calif.) on a roll with eight straight wins since an overtime loss to Mater Dei on March 19. Previous: 6

8. Mountain Vista (Colo.), 9-1

The Golden Eagles suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 14-13 to Valor Christian (Colo.) on April 15 to split games for the week. They beat Rock Canyon (Colo.) 15-1 on April 12. Mountain Vista looks to bounce back when it returns to action April 21 at Castle View (Colo.). Previous: 3

9. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 6-5

The Falcons bounced back from three straight losses (by a combined five goals) to beat Cathedral Catholic 18-10 on April 13, but then suffered a tough loss to Foothill on April 16 for their worst loss of the season. Foothill is the only team in California to beat the Falcons by more than three goals, and their other six-goal loss was against Mid-Atlantic power St. Paul’s (Md.). Previous: 7

10. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 13-2

The Wildcats head to the East Coast for a pair of games in New York, riding an eight-game winning streak after adding two more victories last week. They beat Mercer Island (Wash.) 14-7 to begin the week and followed with a 20-1 win over Sacred Heart Cathedral (Calif.). Oliver Bligh led the attack against Mercer Island with five points on four goals and one assist, and Matt Higgins added four goals as well. Previous: 9
