US Lacrosse Magazine has confirmed a report from Chris Jastrzembski stating that Jeff Teat plans to return to Cornell for the 2021 season. Plans are still being finalized, the source said.
According to the report, Teat will not attend Cornell in the fall but will return to campus for the spring semester. Michael Sowers had hoped to do the same thing to remain at Princeton, but the university — along with some other Ivy League institutions — did not allow it. As a result, Sowers entered the transfer portal and reportedly chose Duke as his next home.
Teat, a second-team USILA All-American in 2019 and first-team All-American in 2018, tallied 12 goals and 15 assists in this shortened season. He was drafted in the fifth round (25th overall) of the Major League Lacrosse College Draft by the Boston Cannons and in the second round (12th overall) of the Premier Lacrosse League Collegiate Draft by Chaos LC.
According to Cornell's commencement program, 11 of the 12 men's lacrosse team's seniors were scheduled for graduation. Teat was not listed.
