St. Mary's Annapolis (Md.) continues its ascent in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25, moving up four spots to No. 11 this week —  blowing out Annapolis (Md.) and Springside Chestnut Hill (Md.) over the past week. 

Massapequa (N.Y.) also had a strong week, getting an overtime game-winner from Timmy Ley to down Manhasset (N.Y.) 7-6 — he dropped four goals and one assist in an 18-5 win over Carey (N.Y.), as well. As a result, it moves from unranked to No. 14.

Sophomore attackman Joey Pezzimenti tallied three goals and two assists to power Victor to a 13-10 win over No. 6 Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.) last week. The Blue Devils host Corning (N.Y.) on Saturday. Previous: 4

4. Brunswick (Conn.), 2-0

Brunswick posted a decisive 10-3 victory over Deerfield (Mass) last week to push its win streak to 17 games. Xander Dickson had three goals and four assists and Jordan Grinder won 13 of 15 faceoffs for the Bruins. Previous: 5

5. Ward Melville (N.Y.), 2-0

Dylan Pallonetti scored four goals to lead Ward Melville to a season-opening 10-7 win over Commack (N.Y.). Matt Grill and Liam Davenport each added two goals for the defending Class A champions. The Patriots followed with an impressive 9-3 win over Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.). Previous: 3

6. Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y,), 1-1

The Red Rams dropped a 13-10 decision to Victor (N.Y.) in their opener but rebounded with a 20-5 win over Oswego (N.Y.). Connor Durkin had seven goals and three assists in the two games. Previous: 6

7. Yorktown (N.Y.), 3-1

The Cornhuskers jumped into the rankings after topping former No. 8 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 10-5, on March 27. That victory was sandwiched by a pair of decisive wins over Dominion (Va.) and Fox Lane (N.Y.) before Yorktown dropped a competitive 13-10 decision to top-ranked Darien (Conn.) on Saturday. 8. Massapequa (N.Y.), 2-0

The Chiefs move in after a strong start to the season. Timmy Ley scored the game winner in overtime to propel them to a 7-6 victory over Manhasset (N.Y.), and he also had four goals and one assist in an 18-5 win over Carey (N.Y.). Thomas Greenblatt added one goal and six assists in the Carey win. Previous: NR

9. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 1-1

The Seahawks’ 28-game winning streak came to an end when they slipped up against Syosset (N.Y.) last week, falling 11-5. Teddy Bentley and Kevin Winkoff each scored twice but Cold Spring Harbor couldn’t get the offense going for a second straight game. Five goals had been enough to beat Manhasset the previous week. 10. Manhasset (N.Y.), 1-2

The Indians suffered their second straight one-goal loss last week to start the season 0-2 but rebounded with an 8-5 win over John Jay-Cross River (N.Y.), which knocked Smithtown East out the previous week. Manhasset fell 5-4 to Cold Spring Harbor in the opener and then lost 7-6 in overtime against Massapequa on March 27. Previous: NR

Mid-Atlantic Top 10

1. Calvert Hall (Md.), 6-1

Calvert Hall finished up its non-conference schedule with a 5-2 win over Garden City (N.Y.) as Grant Mitchell scored three goals and Liam Darragh made 11 saves. Now, the second season begins as the rest of the defending champ’s schedule is against MIAA A Conference opponents. Previous: 1 

2. Haverford School (Pa.), 4-2

Bouncing back from a loss to Culver Academy (Ind.), the Fords defeated Landon (Md.) 14-9. TJ Malone had three goals and three assists, and Adam Salvaggio and Scott Deck each scored three times. Previous: 3

3. St. Mary’s Annapolis (Md.), 6-1

The Saints won a pair of lopsided games last week, beating Annapolis (Md.) and Springside Chestnut Hill (Md.). They were set to face McDonogh (Md.) in the first game of the conference season on Tuesday. St. Mary’s jumped out to a 10-1 start last season but dropped six of its last 10 games to conference opponents. Previous: 6

4. Gonzaga (D.C.), 5-2

The Purple Eagles bounced back from a loss to Culver Academy (Ind.) in a big way, defeating former No. 2 Boys’ Latin 11-8 to jump into the rankings. Tim Marcille made 10 saves and Jack Myers had three goals and two assists. Gonzaga also had a notable win over Bullis (Md.). Previous: NR

5. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 5-1

After beating Conestoga (Pa.) in overtime early last week, the Lakers dropped their first loss of the year, an 11-8 decision against Gonzaga (D.C.). Brendan Grimes scored four goals. Boys’ Latin was set to open MIAA A play against Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday. Previous: 2

6. St. John’s (D.C.), 7-1

The Cadets defeated Paul VI (Va.) 7-6 in their only game last week. They have won seven straight, including victories against Landon (Md.) and Georgetown Prep (Md.). Previous: 7

7. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 3-1

The Friars have won three straight since opening with a loss to Calvert Hall. They move into the rankings with victories over Academy New Church (Pa.), Gilman (Md.) and Loyola-Blakefield (Md.). Scott White and Matt Hilburn each scored three goals in a 12-8 win over Academy New Church (Pa.) last week. Both players had one goal in an 11-9 win over Loyola-Blakefield. Previous: 8

8. Bullis (Md.), 7-2

The Bulldogs were not nice guests on trips to Delaware and Pennsylvania last week, winning four straight games by nine goals or more. They defeated Cape Henlopen (Del.) 16-3 to start the trip and finished off with an 18-2 win over West Chester East (Pa.). Sophomore Isaac Aronson scored 11 goals in those games. Previous: 9

9. La Salle College (Pa.), 2-0

Ethan Masucci scored three goals and Matt Clibanoff added two goals as La Salle defeated Conestoga (Pa.) 8-3. Michael Clibanoff made 10 saves. Previous: 10

10. McDonogh (Md.), 4-3

The Eagles beat Hereford (Md.) 9-4, then dropped a close one to Culver Academy (Ind.) last week. Dane Swanson scored four goals in the 8-7 loss. McDonogh, which also has losses to Chaminade (N.Y.) and Haverford (Pa.), is battle-tested heading into conference play this week. The Eagles travel to St. Mary’s to start, followed by games against Severn (Md.) and Calvert Hall (Md.) Previous: 4

1. Lambert (Ga.), 12-0

The Longhorns remained unbeaten with in-state wins against Milton and Westminster. They beat Milton 12-1 and then Westminster 14-4. They are idle this week. Previous: 1

2. The Woodlands (Texas), 12-0

The Highlanders were idle last week, but were scheduled to play Houston Christian (Texas) on Tuesday. They have a big game against Highland Park (Texas) on Saturday. Previous: 2

3. Oxbridge Academy (Fla.), 12-2

The ThunderWolves kept rolling with in-state wins over Cardinal Newman and Park Vista. Bennett Bowers led with five goals in the 19-1 win over Newman, while Connor Davies had one goal and five assists and Mike Hays had four goals. In the 16-2 win over Park Vista, Vinny Cerasulo scored three goals, and Davies had three assists. Oxbridge was set to play at St. Edward’s (Fla.) on Tuesday. Previous: 3

4. Middle Creek (N.C.), 10-0

The Mustangs picked up in-state wins at Fuquay-Varina and at Holly Springs. Nine players scored in the 16-1 win over Fuquay-Varina, led by Owen Caputo with six goals and one assist. Caputo had five goals and four assists in the 12-3 win over Holly Springs. The Mustangs play unbeaten Weddington on Saturday. Previous: 4  

5. Dallas Jesuit (Texas), 9-3

The Rangers won their only game last week, beating MICDS, the 2017 Missouri Division I state champ, 10-9 on Thursday. MICDS was the No. 2 team in the Midwest last week. Previous: 5 

6. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 8-2

The Eagles lost to defending Missouri state champion MICDS 10-9 on Saturday but looked to bounce back in a game against Greenhill (Texas), which was scheduled for Tuesday. Previous: 6

7. Centennial (Ga.), 11-1

The Knights stretched their win streak to four games with victories over Peachtree Ridge (Ga.) and Lovett (Ga.) last week. It was just the second loss of the year for Lovett. Colin Hall led with four goals in the 19-7 win over Peachtree Ridge. Nicky Solomon had three goals and five assists, and Caleb Sadd had two goals and won 14 of 20 faceoffs. In the 16-11 win over Lovett, Sadd had two goals, an assist and won 13 of 21 faceoffs. Hall led with five goals and one assist. The Knights are idle this week. Previous: 7

8. Weddington (N.C.), 7-0

The Warriors beat Mount Tabor (N.C.) 14-6 and then squeezed past Northwest Guilford (N.C.) 10-9 in overtime last week. Anthony Todaro had five goals and three assists against Mount Tabor. James Shipley led with five goals and one assist as the Warriors held off Northwest Guilford. The Warriors play at No. 4 Middle Creek on Saturday. Previous: 8

9. Jupiter (Fla), 11-1

The Warriors beat Riviera Beach (Fla.) 27-0 and then solidified their position with an 11-6 win over two-time defending Florida champ and previously-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas. Jupiter led 9-2 at the half. Denver Aranda led with four goals, and Benno Janssen and Chris Radice scored three each. Previous: 9

10. Bishop Moore (Fla.), 11-1

The Hornets ran their win streak to 10 games with a 21-2 win over Dr. Phillips to join the top 10 for the first time. Twelve different players scored goals. Bishop Moore’s only loss was the second game of the year to No. 3 Oxbridge. The Hornets were scheduled to play Edgewater (Fla.) on Tuesday. Previous: NR

Midwest Top 10

1. Culver Military Academy (Ind.), 9-0

The Eagles remained perfect despite playing two challenging matches last week against teams ranked nationally. Culver solidified its place as the country’s top-ranked team by beating Gonzaga (D.C.) 12-8 and McDonogh (Md.) 8-7. Austin Madronic scored five times against Gonzaga, and Jake Stevens scored the game-winner against McDonogh. Previous: 1

2. MICDS (Mo.), 5-1

The Rams dropped a heartbreaker at Dallas Jesuit (Texas) by a 10-9 margin on March 29, but exacted their revenge two days later in the Heart of Texas, defeating Dallas Episcopal 10-9. Graham Bundy Jr. scored four times in the win over Dallas Episcopal. Previous: 2

3. Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.), 3-0

The Shamrocks pitched a shutout over Birmingham (Mich.) on March 27 with a 23-0 win and followed that with a 10-4 victory over East Grand Rapids (Mich.) the next day. Joey Kamish, a Loyola-Maryland recruit, scored five times against Birmingham and four times versus East Grand Rapids. Previous: 3

4. Brother Rice (Mich.), 0-0

The defending state champs were scheduled to start the season Tuesday against the University of Detroit Jesuit. Brother Rice travels to Ohio this week to take on Olentangy Liberty and Cincinnati St. Xavier. Previous: 4

5. New Trier (Ill.), 5-0

The Trevians demolished regional power Cathedral (Ind.) 16-3 on March 27, then followed the big win with an 8-6 victory over Carmel (Ind.) the next day. They were scheduled to play Evanston Township (Ill.) on Tuesday. Previous: 7

6. Archbishop Moeller (Ohio), 3-1

The Crusaders took a 10-day break from games but have a busy week ahead to make up for it, taking on Sycamore (Ohio), Father Ryan (Tenn.) and Montgomery Bell Academy (Tenn.). Previous: 6

7. Loyola Academy (Ill.) 2-0

The Ramblers started their season last week with two dominating wins, first collecting a shutout over St. Laurence (Ill.) 24-0 on March 27 and then beating St. Rita (Ill.) 18-2 on March 28. Previous: 8

8. Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 2-0

The Bombers had the week off after a pair of impressive wins to start the season. St. Xavier has a tough week ahead with matches against Detroit Country Day (Mich.) on Thursday, Upper Arlington (Ohio) on Friday and Brother Rice (Mich.) on Saturday. Previous: 9

9. Eureka (Mo.), 8-1

Since a quality win over DeSmet Jesuit (Mo.) on March 24, the Wildcats have won a pair of blowouts. Eureka defeated Fox (Mo.) 18-0 and Marquette (Mo.) 20-2. Chase Baker stepped up with a total of 10 goals in two games last week. Previous: NR

10. Cathedral (Ind.), 2-3

The Irish have run into a buzzsaw of a schedule to open the season. Following early season losses to Culver and Louisville St. Xavier (Ky.), Cathedral fell to unbeaten New Trier (Ill.) 16-3 on March 27. Cathedral hopes to get back to .500 on Wednesday against Brebeuf Jesuit (Ind.). Previous: 5

1. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 8-0

The Falcons followed their big win over Regis Jesuit (Colo.) early last week with a decisive 15-4 win over Carlsbad (Calif.) on March 28 and then pulled out a sloppy 8-7 victory over Cleveland St. Ignatius (Ohio) on Monday night, overcoming 18 turnovers. Alex Pistorius, Michael Mines, Miles Botkis, Blake Erlbeck and Christian Rasmussen each tallied two goals against Carlsbad. Torrey Pines heads East this weekend for a big test against national No. 2 Darien (Conn.). Previous: 1

2. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 4-1

The Raiders rebounded from the loss to Torrey Pines to hand No. 3 La Costa Canyon (Calif.) its first loss, 10-7, on March 28. Jake Taylor led with five goals, and Regis overcame some struggles at the faceoff X to build a 10-5 lead after three quarters. The Raiders return to Colorado to play Mountain Vista (Colo.) on Wednesday. Previous: 2

3. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 7-1

The Mavericks won 12 of 19 faceoff attempts against Regis Jesuit but couldn’t make more of the possession advantage, as the visiting Raiders left with a 10-7 victory. La Costa Canyon turned the tables on former No. 5 Coronado, this time winning 10-7 in a rematch of the 2017 CIF San Diego lacrosse finals also won by LCC. Previous: 3  

4. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 4-1

The Bruins were idle last week after a game against Mountain Vista (Colo.) was postponed because of bad weather. The two teams are now set to meet Saturday, but before that, Cherry Creek plays unbeaten Columbine (Colo.) on Wednesday and Cherokee Trail (Colo.) on Friday. Previous: 6

5. St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.), 9-0

The Tartans remained perfect with two more wins last week and climbed with help from some shuffling of teams previously ranked ahead of them that suffered losses. St. Margaret’s beat Yorba Linda (Calif.) 17-8 on March 27 and topped Poway (Calif.) 9-7 two days later. The Tartans were scheduled to play De La Salle (Calif.) on Tuesday. Previous: 9

6. Columbine (Colo.), 5-0

The Rebels join the rankings after coming away with two impressive wins in Washington. They beat Bainbridge Island (Wash.) 9-3 early last week and then followed with a 7-6 win over Mercer Island (Wash.). Columbine also has a notable win over Arapahoe (Colo.). Up next is a test against Cherry Creek (Colo.) on Wednesday. Previous: NR

7. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 11-2

The Wolves suffered their second loss last week, falling 13-8 to Arapahoe (Colo.), but they were able to bounce back with an impressive 18-10 win over then No. 4 Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) two days later. They also added wins over Dublin (Calif.) and Redwood (Calif.) on the road last week. SRV was scheduled to play at Davis (Calif.) on Tuesday before taking a nine-day break from action. Previous: 10

8. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 11-1

The Knights dropped their first loss, 18-10, to then-No. 10 San Ramon Valley (Calif.) on March 29 and then got back to their winning ways with a 20-10 victory against San Clemente on Monday. Foothill struggled coming out of the gate against San Clemente and the game was tied at the half; however, adjustments enabled the Knights to finish on a 13-3 run for the win. Ellis Geis registered four goals and three assists, and Josh Fox had five goals and one assist. Previous: 4 

9. Bellevue (Wash.), 7-0

The Wolverines remain undefeated after adding wins over Eastlake (Wash.) and Mount Si (Wash.) last week. Tom Heed had three goals to lead Bellevue to an 8-4 win over Eastlake, and goalies Cabe Edelhertz and Ethan Schiller combined for 10 saves. Bellevue now heads to the East Coast on a trip that includes a game against nationally-ranked Haverford School (Pa.) this weekend. Previous: 7

10. Oregon Episcopal (Ore.), 1-0

The Aardvarks have been idle since opening with a 12-6 win at Lake Oswego (Ore.) on March 13. They carried a 16-game win streak into Tuesday’s game at Wilsonville (Ore.). Previous: 8
