The same successful quartet occupy the top four spots in the latest Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25. A couple of big cross-region games altered slightly the remainder of the rankings, with three new teams joining the Top 25.

The top six in the Northeast remain the same heading into the second week of play for most of them. Baldwinsville (N.Y.) jumped up to No. 7 after a solid start and Ward Melville (N.Y.) climbed to No. 8 with wins in its first five games while Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) fell out of the top 10. Mount Sinai (N.Y.) claimed a top 10 spot on the strength of a 4-0 start and Skaneateles (N.Y.) nabbed the final position with its promising opener.

There was the potential to leapfrog teams, but the rankings in the Mid-Atlantic stayed the same without an upset in the week. St. Paul’s (Md.) had to rally to force overtime and then pulled out a 9-8 win over an improved Bryn Mawr (Md.) squad to remain at the top unscathed. McDonogh (Md.) handed Archbishop Spalding (Md.) its first loss of the year to remain one spot ahead of the upstart. Spalding didn’t drop in the region because just below it is Glenelg Country (Md.), a team it already defeated. Oak Knoll (N.J.) and Moorestown (N.J.) each finally opened their seasons with convincing perfect weeks.

American Heritage-Delray (Fla.) takes over the top spot in the South Region from Milton (Ga.), which lost twice to Mid-Atlantic teams Good Counsel (Md.) and Bishop Ireton (Va.). Hillgrove (Ga.) also vaulted into the top 10 with a win over previously unbeaten Blessed Trinity (Ga.).

Loyola (Ill.) is just getting started in the Midwest, and is also well respected nationally. The top six teams remain the same in the region and Carmel (Ind.) moved up two spots on the strength of its 6-0 start. Rockford (Mich.), Jackson (Ohio) and Prior Lake (Minn.) remain in the top 10 in the region in a small reshuffle.

Unbeatens Colorado Academy (Colo.) and St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.) retain the top two spots in the West Region with Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) third and Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), which St. Ignatius knocked off last week, in fourth. Undefeated Park City (Utah) and two-loss Valor Christian (Colo.) switched spots in the otherwise unchanged region.

1. St. Paul’s (Md.), 7-0

The Gators edged Bryn Mawr (Md.) 9-8 in overtime on March 30 in their tightest contest yet. Lauren Steer notched the game-winner as St. Paul’s won the draw and went down for the score. Natalie Shurtleff scored the tying goal. St. Paul’s returned to action with an 11-7 win over Maryvale Prep (Md.) on Friday. The Gators have thus far doubled opponents by a margin of 90-49. Previous: 1

2. McDonogh (Md.), 6-0

The Eagles pulled away over the second half to win a battle of previous unbeatens, 16-8, over Archbishop Spalding (Md.) on April 1. Marin Wilhelm backstopped the defense with nine saves in goals while Kori Edmondson continued her fast start with five goals and an assist. McDonogh led by two at halftime before scoring the next seven goals. Ana Lee Vandiver and Amanda Lawson each had hat tricks in the win, while Caroline Godine supplied three assists. McDonogh stopped St. Mary’s (Md.) 11-7. After a pair of IAAM games, they will host St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) on April 9 in a huge cross-region game. Previous: 2

3. Archbishop Spalding (Md.), 5-1

The Cavaliers dropped a 16-8 matchup to McDonogh (Md.) despite a hat trick from Gabby Green and a goal and assist from Maeve Cavanaugh. Spalding blew by Mount de Sales (Md.) 15-6 and then toppled Severn School (Md.) 12-6 in the leadup to the showdown at McDonogh. Previous: 3

4. Glenelg Country (Md.), 6-1

The Dragons used a second-half explosion to run away from Bryn Mawr (Md.) 17-6 on April 1. Steph Marszal made 10 saves for the defense. Glenelg also had lopsided wins over Severn and Gerstell during the week. Jaclyn Marszal had seven goals and eight assists combined in the pair of wins while Blair Bryne fired in seven goals. Maddie Herman posted 10 points on six goals and four assists and Kate Fuhrman scored five goals. Maggie Weisman scored five goals and won 10 draw controls. 5. Oak Knoll (N.J.), 2-0

A balanced attack led Oak Knoll to a 16-2 win over Immaculate Heart (N.J.) in their season opener. Sophia Loschert had four goals and an assist while Devon Gogerty and Teagan Kocaj both had hat tricks. Darby Campbell had two goals and two assists. Loschert posted another four goals and Sophia Labrianakos tallied five points and seven draw controls in a 15-8 win over Glen Ridge on April 2. The Royals face a busy week with games at Westfield (N.J.), Mountain Lakes (N.J.) and Notre Dame (N.J.). Previous: 5

6. Glenelg High (Md.), 5-0

The Gladiators continued their early season dominance with a pair of blowout wins. After scoring an 18-1 win over South River (Md.), Glenelg posted its biggest offensive total of the season in a 20-4 win at Howard (Md.). They have just one game this week, at Atholton (Md.) on April 7. Previous: 6

7. Moorestown (N.J.), 2-0

The Quakers jumped out to a 9-1 halftime lead on their way to a 15-4 win over Hunterdon Central to open the season. Emma Dengler fired in six goals and added one assist while Katie Buck posted a hat trick with two assists. Laura Sullivan made five saves. Four goals apiece from Emma Greer and Buck were more than enough in a 15-3 win over Ocean City (N.J.). Moorestown plays at Kingsway (N.J.) and Eastern (N.J.) this week. Previous: 7

8. Notre Dame (Md.), 6-3

The Blazers picked up a trio of wins this week. Notre Dame used four goals from Sarah Goodison to pull away from Bishop Ireton (Va.) 14-9 on April 3. Notre Dame defeated Roland Park (Md.) 15-11 on March 30. They overwhelmed Gerstell Academy (Md.) 15-6 on April 1. The Blazers have a key game this week against Glenelg Country (Md.) on April 8. Previous: 8

9. Archbishop Carroll (Pa.), 3-0

The Patriots rallied from a 4-1 first-half deficit with seven goals in the second half for an 8-7 win over Garnet Valley (Pa.) on April 2. Ava Bleckley scored twice and won four draw controls. Carroll opened Philadelphia Catholic League play with a 13-9 win over Cardinal O’Hara (Pa.) on March 29. Bleckley, a James Madison commit, won six draw controls, had four ground balls, scored two goals and caused two turnovers. 10. Good Counsel (Md.), 8-1

The Falcons rallied to edge Milton (Ga.) 14-13 in a matchup with one of the best teams from the South Region on April 1. Good Counsel was coming off a 22-0 win over Bishop McNamara (Md.) the day before. Good Counsel also put away Bishop Ireton (Va.) 15-10. Previous: 10

1. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 11-2

The Stallions polished off their Mid-Atlantic road trip with a 12-10 victory over Agnes Irwin (Pa.) March 28. American Heritage-Delray closed out the week with a dominating 19-1 win over Boca Raton (Fla.). Previous: 2

2. Milton (Ga.), 12-2

The Eagles lost their first games since 2019 last week, both in heartbreaking fashion. Milton fell to nationally ranked Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) 14-13. Milton lost a one-goal contest to Bishop Ireton (Va.) 13-12. Milton managed to pick up wins last week over Roswell (Ga.), 17-7, and Connelly School of the Holy Child (Md.), 13-11. Maeve Simmonds, a junior committed to Ohio State, continued her impressive run. She scored at least a hat trick in all four matches last week, totaling 16 tallies. Previous: 1

3. Hockaday (Texas), 13-0

The Daisies continued their undefeated season. Hockaday defeated Southlake (Texas) 18-15, and Green Hill School (Texas) 20-6. Hockaday has the coming week off and resumes play April 14 versus Episcopal School of Dallas (Texas). Previous: 4

4. Steinbrenner (Fla.), 14-1

The Warriors continued their consistent run with four victories last week. Steinbrenner kicked off the week with a 12-7 win over Olentangy Liberty (Ohio). Steinbrenner closed the week out with wins over Wharton (Fla.), 17-3, Bloomingdale (Fla.), 21-0, and Ponte Vedra (Fla.) 6-5. The Highlanders extended their winning streak to five with wins last week over Episcopal School of Jacksonville (Fla.), 14-7, and Bishop Moore (Fla.), 12-6. Lake Highland Prep will have a challenging finish to the regular season with contests this week against Vero Beach (Fla.) and IMG Academy (Fla.). Previous: 10

9. Bartram Trail (Fla.), 12-3

The Bears posted a dominating performance, overwhelming Flagler Palm Beach (Fla.) 20-0 last week. The normally stout Bartram Trail defense allowed 14 goals, but still managed a 16-14 win over Lake Mary (Fla.). Seniors Marina Dean and Maggie Bennett each contributed eight goals last week. Bartram Trail closes out the regular season Saturday against Bishop Moore (Fla.). Previous: 9

10. Hillgrove (Ga.), 12-1

Since losing to Creekview (Ga.) in the third game of the year, Hillgrove has won 10 in a row, including a notable 9-8 win over Blessed Trinity (Ga.) last week. Hillgrove followed that win with a 17-0 drubbing of Harrison (Ga.) and a 16-5 victory over Kell (Ga.). 1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 3-0

The Ramblers stayed undefeated with a 19-0 victory over Mother McAuley (Ill.) last week. Maeve Dwyer and Adrienne Leone were both stellar in the Ramblers' win over the Mighty Macs, notching seven points apiece. Previous: 1

2. New Trier (Ill.), 2-0

Following a week off, the Trevians have another relatively calm week coming, with a single home game against Deerfield (Ill.), before a huge back-to-back the week after in which New Trier hosts rival Loyola Academy (Ill.) before heading to York (Ill.) the next day. Previous: 2

3. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 1-0

The Pioneers won their opener, 15-11, over Forest Hills United (Mich.). After finally getting a game in following a couple of contests that were canceled due to bad weather, EGR is off again until an April 13 game against Forest Hills Central (Mich.). Previous: 3

4. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 3-0

Coming off a long spring break, the Red Devils have back-to-back-to-back contests against St. Ignatius (Ill.), Franklin (Tenn.) and Ravenwood (Tenn.). The latter two should be particularly interesting as the Red Devils' first Volunteer State foe, the Admirals, are 8-3, and the latter, the Raptors, are 6-4. Previous: 4

5. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 3-0

The Golden Bears picked up an impressive 14-7 victory over red-hot Jackson (Ohio), led by four goals apiece from Camryn Callaghan and Lilly Stelzer. Kampbell Stone was also highly effective, following a hat trick against Worthington with two goals and two assists against the Polar Bears. Previous: 5

6. New Albany (Ohio), 3-0

The Eagles haven't played since March 25 but their long spring break is nearly over. New Albany returns to action April 9 afternoon against a highly competitive Hudson (Ohio) squad that won 16 games last season. Previous: 6

7. Rockford (Mich.), 1-0

Following a long spring break, the Rams hit the road starting April 13 with in-state games at Forest Hills Northern (Mich.), Brighton (Mich.) and Grand Rapids Catholic Central (Mich.). Previous: 8

8. Carmel (Ind.), 6-0

The Greyhounds were impressive in their state title game rematch with Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), prevailing 17-9 behind six goals, four ground balls and three draw controls from freshman Sophie Mock and five goals and two assists from senior Hollis Rang. Previous: 10

9. Jackson (Ohio), 3-1

The Polar Bears suffered their first loss of the season, falling 14-7 to perennial power Upper Arlington (Ohio). Jackson has plenty of chances to prove itself coming up, including big-time showdowns with Division II power Chagrin Falls (Ohio) on April 7, Division I force New Albany (Ohio) on April 16 and a home date with Hudson (Ohio) on April 21. Previous: 7

The Mustangs beat Air Academy (Colo.) 17-7 in their lone game last week, as Zoe Martin led with five goals, Anna Colpack added two goals and four assists and Maya Kendall contributed three goals and two assists. Colorado gets a test against Cherry Creek (Colo.) this week. Previous: 1

The Knights added three more wins last week with the closest game being a 17-7 decision against Edison (Calif.). They’ve won seven straight since their only loss against St. Ignatius Prep on March 17. 4. Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), 7-2

The Gators split games last week, falling to St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.) but bouncing back against St. Francis Mountain View (Calif.). Kat Showalter, Ava Shenk and Phoebe Kim each finished with hat tricks in the 13-10 win. Previous: 4

5. Scripps Ranch (Calif.), 8-0

The Falcons were idle last week, but they face a busy three-game slate this week. Kayden Williamson leads the team in goals and assists after a big week to end the March schedule as she recorded 13 goals and six assists in wins over Canyon Crest Academy (Calif.) and Sage Creek (Calif.) before their little break. 6. Palos Verdes (Calif.), 14-0

The Sea Kings had the week off from games but are set to return to play April 5 against St. Margaret’s (Calif.). They’ve outscored opponents 220-81 during their unbeaten start. Previous: 6

7. Park City (Utah), 5-0

The Miners dominated Wasatch (Utah), collecting a 17-4 win in the only game they played last week. They got six goals and two assists from Samantha Riely and six goals and an assist from Lilly Hunt. Maddie McHenry had six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Previous: 8

8. Valor Christian (Colo.), 3-2

The Eagles survived a close game against Fairview (Colo.), pulling out a 10-9 victory in their only contest of the week. Kaley Kakac and Eliza Osburn each scored hat tricks, while Reagan Digby led the team in points with two goals and two assists. Previous: 7

9. Newbury Park (Calif.), 6-1

Micah Shin scored six goals and added an assist to lead the Panthers to a 17-8 win over Agoura (Calif.) last week.  Reagan Laubner added four goals, and Cassie Huber and Lindsay O’Toole each contributed three goals. Sophia Laubner added a goal, five draw controls, five ground balls, one caused turnover and three clears.
