SPARKS, Md. — The U.S. men’s national team games against defending NCAA champion Maryland and 2017 semifinalist Towson, part of the Team USA Fall Classic this weekend, will be streamed live and free-of-charge on several platforms. The games will be available on the US Lacrosse Facebook page, on the US Lacrosse YouTube channel and on the US Lacrosse website.
The U.S. team will take on Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. (EST) and Towson on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. (EST) on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
Other games taking place on Oct. 8 include a 9/11 Memorial Game featuring first responders from Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia at 11:15 a.m., and Israel’s national team will play an abbreviated scrimmage against Towson at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 each day.
U.S. team head coach John Danowski will use split squads for the games this weekend as the team continues to prepare for the world championship.
“We’re going to try to coach like we would in a tournament with only 23 players on the team,” Danowski said. “That’s not something we’re really used to.”
The U.S. team currently has 49 players on its roster, and will eventually name a travel roster of 23 players for the Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s World Championship from July 12-21, 2018 in Netanya, Israel.
