Spencer Ties Patriot League Record
Loyola traveled to Lehigh with looking to keep pace at the top of the Patriot League. The Greyhounds have commanded the Patriot League for the past two years, but the Mountain Hawks entered Saturday’s matchup at 5-1 in conference.
The Greyhounds made it clear they still have it takes to lead the Patriot League once again. Pat Spencer tallied four goals and three assists to help Loyola dominate the hosts 16-10 and move to 5-1 in conference. Loyola now sits, at the moment, in a three-way tie for first with Navy and Bucknell.
Spencer’s three assists moved him into a tie for the Patriot League career record. We’ll have more on this game later.

Hopkins Wins Seventh Straight
Johns Hopkins continued its mid-season run on Saturday afternoon, getting 11 saves from Brock Turnbaugh to pull away from Ohio State for the 11-7 victory at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays improve to 2-0 to stay atop the Big Ten, while the Buckeyes move to 0-2 and sit at the bottom.
The Blue Jays came out of the gates strong, picking up three of the first four goals to take hold of the game. Joel Tinney, Patrick Fraser and Shack Stanwick each scored in the opening run. Tre LeClaire and Colby Smith scored for Ohio State to tie the game at 3-3 after one quarter.
The game remained tied at halftime, as both teams scored twice in the second quarter. In the waning seconds of the first half, Leclaire’s point-blank, stepdown shot was stopped by Turnbaugh — one of a few crucial saves on the day.

Brown Holds on Against Penn
Senior middie Stephen Hudak scored his second goal of the game with 5:41 remaining to lift Brown to a crucial 10-9 Ivy League win over Penn Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field. The win gives the Bears their second straight, improving to 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in the Ivy League, while Penn falls to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in league play.
It certainly wasn't easy for the Bears, who led 8-2 at the half and saw the Quakers tie the game, 9-9, with 8:49 remaining on Connor Keating's goal. The Golden Eagles (5-4) battled back after the Red Storm (6-5) took a late lead, and Wagner scored his third of the day to end the deadlock for good.
Jack Zerillo also netted a hat trick in the win.
The Red Storm hung with Marquette in the first quarter, tying things up both times the Golden Eagles went ahead. It was in the second when the Golden Eagles took over.
St. John's had a two-man advantage in the second, but couldn't score and an offsides penalty ended any momentum.
Jason Debenedictis notched his second tally with five seconds left in the third, then gave the Red Storm a 9-8 lead to start off the fourth quarter.
After the Red Storm took their first two-goal lead, Jack Zerillo netted his third tally to bring the Golden Eagles back within one. Connor McClelland tied it moments later.
Matt Hanley made three late saves for the Red Storm to preserve the tie between the end of the fourth frame and overtime. Cole Blazer matched him with a late overtime save of his own to give the Golden Eagles their chance.
The Golden Eagles had lost four of their last five games, including a week ago against Villanova. St. John's has now dropped three straight games, including conference contests against Providence and now Marquette.
