All eyes in the lacrosse community are on Central New York this weekend.
For one, the famed Thompson brothers are competing on a stacked squad in the Lacrosse All Stars North American Invitational, a box lacrosse event held on the Onondaga Reservation just outside of Syracuse. (Check out the event site and the Syracuse Post-Standard for some great photos and videos.)
Moreover, we’ll get our first look at Tehoka Nanticoke in an Albany uniform. The IMG Academy (Fla.) product from Six Nations, Ontario, is the No. 1-ranked recruit in the freshman class, according to Inside Lacrosse. His stick wizardry has produced some jaw-dropping highlights. For example:

Now Nanticoke joins the same team that made Miles and Lyle Thompson household names in college lacrosse. Great Danes coach Scott Marr does not shy away from comparisons.
“You’ve already had those moments where you shake your head at something he does, just like you did with Lyle,” Marr told the Albany Times Union. “It happened the other day during a scrimmage, and I turned [to the players] and said, ‘Get used to it.’”
The Nanticoke show comes to the Carrier Dome on Sunday. Albany is filling in for Syracuse, which dropped out of exhibitions against the Iroquois Nationals and Israeli national team over concerns of a mumps outbreak on campus. At least one Orange men’s lacrosse player is confirmed to have the virus.
Syracuse athletic director John Wildhack cited an “abundance of caution” in pulling out of the event.
