It didn’t take long for Indianapolis to prove it deserved its No. 1 ranking. Just six days after climbing to the top spot in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Top 20, the Greyhounds went on the road and defeated No. 2 ranked Le Moyne 11-10 ending the Dolphins’ 35-game regular season winning streak.
All-America attacker Abigail Lagos scored the game-winning goal midway through the fourth quarter, and the UIndy defense kept Le Moyne scoreless over the final 11:41 of the contest to secure the victory. UIndy gets another stiff test this week with a visit to No. 13 Adelphi on Wednesday.
Queens, which improved to 6-0, moves up one spot to second this week, followed by Le Moyne, Lindenwood, and Rollins. The weekend snow along the East Coast postponed a number of games that might have further impacted this week’s rankings, including most notably Adelphi at No. 6 West Chester.
Games to watch this week include No. 3 Le Moyne at No. 12 Roberts Wesleyan, No. 18 Tampa at No. 4 Lindenwood, and No. 15 Mercy against No. 17 Bentley.

For the second straight season, Pace is off to a 4-0 start. The Setters defeated Saint Rose, 16-4, as senior Kayla Conway tied a school-record with seven goals. Pace is averaging 17.5 goals per game through its first four contest and has a chance for a statement non-conference win this week when it visits No. 7 East Stroudsburg.
Rollins (+1)
The Tars climb into the top five for the first time this season after running their record to 6-0. Rollins captured its sixth win on Sunday by outscoring Ala-Huntsville 8-2 in the second half en route to an 11-8 victory. Rollins faces three more non-league games, all at home, before launching into SSC play.

Mercy (-2)
Despite falling two spots this week, the Mavericks remain a top contender in the ECC. Both of Mercy’s early losses have come against ranked foes, falling by one goal at No. 3 Le Moyne and by five at No. 13 Adelphi last week. Briana Corace recorded her 100th career goal in Sunday’s 12-6 win at Assumption.

Florida Tech (No. 19)
The Panthers registered their first win over a ranked opponent in two years with Saturday’s 13-9 home win over No. 16 Lander. Kayla Minton tallied a season-high five goals and Caroline MacLeod added three goals and an assist as Florida Tech moved to 5-0 on the season. FIT has two more non-conference games before beginning SSC play against No. 11 Embry-Riddle on April 2.

It’s been a rankings rollercoaster for the Bearcats this season, who have been in and out of the Top 20 several times. Lander falls back out this week after back-to-back losses at Lynn and Florida Tech. The Bearcats were outscored 5-1 in the second half of last Saturday’s setback at FIT. Lander will try to start its rebound this week when it visits Lee in a Gulf South Conference game.
