The US Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

NORTHEAST

Will Donovan, Brunswick (Conn.)

The Notre Dame-bound long-stick midfielder rose to the occasion in an overtime win over Darien (Conn.) Saturday in a matchup that had been circled on the calendar since Brunswick’s schedule was released.

Donovan was a menace throughout to the Darien attack, helping hold the Blue Wave to a season-low eight goals. The junior also scored the tying goal in the fourth quarter after Charlie Johnson forced a turnover and the Bruins rallied from a 7-3 third-quarter deficit.

“Will Donovan could be one of the most underrated juniors in the country,” Brunswick coach David Bruce said. “A total gamer who creates havoc in the middle of the field, Donovan leads our team in caused turnovers and scored the tying goal against Darien Saturday — a great competitor and teammate.”

MID-ATLANTIC

Will Angrick, Georgetown Prep (D.C.)

Angrick powered Georgetown to a pair of wins over national power Landon (Md.) last week. The Notre Dame commit scored eight goals in the sweep of the Bears. He had a hat trick in Prep’s 11-5 win on Thursday and then came back with five goals in a game in which the Hoyas needed them all for a 10-9 win on Saturday. The wins pushed Prep to 4-1 in the early going, and Angrick has lived up to expectations with his overall play.

Will Adams, St. Andrew’s (Fla.)

Adams scored four times in last week’s victory over Belen Jesuit (Fla.) in the regional finals. He just recently returned to the lineup after missing a significant portion of the season, but he’s showed no rust. The Amhurst commit has scored 12 times in just six games played this season.

MIDWEST

Shea Keethler, Upper Arlington (Ohio)

Keethler set the tone for the Golden Bears to control possession in a pair of impressive wins last week. He won 10 of 11 faceoffs in the second half against St. Ignatius and 19 of 20 in a victory over Brother Rice (Mich.) on Saturday. The Maryland commit also had two goals and an assist against the Warriors.

WEST

Dewey Egan, Torrey Pines (Calif.)

The senior attackman led Torrey Pines to a big 15-4 win over unbeaten and then-No. 9 Cathedral Catholic (Calif.). He finished with four goals and three assists to power the offense. Egan, a captain, is headed to North Carolina next season.
