The US Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.
NORTHEAST
Kylee Colbert, North Shore (N.Y.)
Colbert was listed as one of the Northeast’s players to watch in the preseason, and she showed why in North Shore’s opening game of the season. The sophomore midfielder, the youngest of three lacrosse-playing siblings, scored six goals in a 9-8 victory over Syosset (N.Y.).
“Kylee is an unbelievable lacrosse player who is all over the field,” North Shore coach Meg McCormack said. “She can dodge and get to the cage seamlessly with her quick first step, makes big stops on the defensive end and is a valuable member of our transition game. Kylee has extremely high lacrosse IQ, which translates to reading lanes.”
