Regy Thorpe and the U.S. indoor national team coaching staff have made adjustments to the official roster ahead of the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Langley, British Columbia. Thorpe added two names — David Emala and Adam Osika — to the 23-man roster that will kick off play in the world championship on Thursday night against host Canada at Langley Events Centre. The U.S. can dress 18 runners and two goalies for each individual game.

Both Emala and Osika were members of the U.S. indoor training team and participated in training camps over the last calendar year. They were named alternates when the roster was announced this summer. Now, each will make his world championship debut with the U.S. national team.

Emala made his NLL debut in the 2018-19 season with the New England Black Wolves, scoring seven goals and adding six assists in seven games. The North Carolina graduate played five seasons in the MLL before moving to the PLL, where he appeared in a game and scored a goal with Archers.

Osika, too, made his NLL debut last season. The transition player joined the Philadelphia Wings in 2018, playing in eight games and tallying four assists and 17 loose balls. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 Entry Draft. Osika graduated from Albany in 2015 and played in eight games with the Dallas Rattlers this summer.

The 23-man roster will look to make the medal stand for the fifth consecutive time since the events debut in 2003. The U.S. indoor team has finished with bronze in each of the previous four world championship.
