LANGLEY, British Columbia — The United States put up its best offensive showing of the tournament in a 22-3 victory over England at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship on Monday evening.

The U.S. completes pool play with a 2-2 record in the Blue Division, earning a trip to Wednesday’s quarterfinal round.

The U.S. tandem of Kieran McArdle and Joe Resetarits, the team’s top two scorers in the tournament, stayed hot with a combined 16 points. McArdle had two goals and six assists and Resetarits had a goal and seven assists. In the last three games, the duo has combined for 50 points.

Gale Thorpe had a game-high five goals in the victory for the U.S. and Blaze Riorden had four goals, including a first quarter hat trick.

The U.S. also got a big boost from a trio of players that helped Whipsnakes win the Premier Lacrosse League championship on Saturday. Connor Kelly (4g, 4a), Matt Rambo (2g, 1a) and Matt Dunn (1g, 2a) all made their presence felt after missing the first three games of the tournament due to the PLL playoffs.

Gowah Abrams earned the victory in net for the U.S., making seven first half saves. David Mather played the second half and pitched a shutout while making seven saves.
