The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. The South Region has completed its season.

NORTHEAST

Maddigan Miller, Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.)

Bayport-Blue Point is one of six remaining undefeated teams on Long Island, and Maddigan Miller is a big reason why. The two-way senior midfielder, a Stanford commit, has led the charge with 19 goals and 10 assists.

Miller had five goals in a 3-0 week, which saw Bayport-Blue Point defeat Mount Sinai, Westhampton and Kings Park. Her biggest scoring output came in the closest game — three goals in an 8-6 win over Westhampton.

MID-ATLANTIC

Grace Muldoon, Stone Ridge (Md.)

Three competitive games gave Muldoon a chance to stand out, and the Richmond commit did exactly that with 21 combined points. The senior midfielder had nine points as Stone Ridge handed Good Counsel its first loss of the year on May 18 by a 20-10 score.

Muldoon then recorded a hat trick and added one assist, as Stone Ridge dealt Georgetown Visitation its first loss (15-11) on Friday. Muldoon followed it up with a five-goal, three-assist performance in a 13-9 win over Visi on Saturday to sweep the series. Between the two Visi games, she came up with eight ground balls.

MIDWEST

Ella Huber, New Trier (Ill.)

A senior who will soon play ice hockey for the University of Minnesota, Huber has been dominant on the draw all year, including six draw controls to go with four goals in a key victory over Hinsdale Central (Ill.) last week.

Huber also had four draws, two goals and an assist against Arrowhead (Ill.), putting her at 30 draws, 15 points and 10 caused turnovers over her last five games.

WEST

Elena Torres, Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.)

The junior powered Foothill to an important 11-8 win over La Jolla (Calif.) on May 18, scoring five times on six shots on goal. She also had three goals and two assists in a 20-1 win over Yorba Linda on Thursday. Torres is averaging four goals per game.
