The U.S. women’s national team will complete a three-day training camp in preparation for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship with a public exhibition game against a team of players from Athletes Unlimited on Wednesday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Stony Brook University.

Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for $14 and group tickets (10 or more) are also available for $10 per ticket. USA Lacrosse members will receive an email with a link to purchase individual tickets at a discounted price of $12.

USA Lacrosse will host the world championship this summer from June 29 to July 9 at Towson (Md.) University. The training camp on Long Island will be the final event for the U.S. team before they gather for the world championship.

The 18-player U.S. roster includes some of the biggest stars in the sport — including the sport’s only three-time Tewaaraton winner Taylor Cummings (Maryland), first-year Syracuse head coach Kayla Treanor and 2021 Tewaaraton Award winner Charlotte North (Boston College).

The U.S. roster also has a distinctive Long Island flavor with three players having graduated from Long Island high schools — Sam Apuzzo (West Babylon), Ally Kennedy (North Babylon) and Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip). Apuzzo went on to Boston College, winning the Tewaaraton Award in 2018. Kennedy and Ohlmiller both stayed home and earned All-America honors at Stony Book with Ohlmiller setting the NCAA record for career points at 498. Stony Brook head coach Joe Spallina is also an assistant coach for the U.S. women’s team, which is led by North Carolina head coach Jenny Levy.

A record 30 nations will compete in this summer’s world championship, which is being held in the U.S. for the first time since 2005. The United States is the reigning world champion in women’s lacrosse, having defeated Canada in the 2017 final in Guildford, England, while England beat Australia for the bronze medal.

The Athletes Unlimited season features 56 of the best players on the planet including nine US National and two international team members from England and Israel. Season two of Athletes Unlimited lacrosse will run for four weekends from July 21 through August 14 with all games being played at USA Lacrosse headquarters and carried exclusively on the ESPN networks.
