The top six teams in the Nike/US Lacrosse South Girls' Top 10 remain undefeated, while Vero Beach (Fla.) joins this week after going 4-0.

1. Hutchison (Tenn.), 2-0

The Sting opened strong with two lopsided, in-state wins, beating White Station 22-0 and Bartlett 21-0. They have two more in-state games this week and then are idle until March 21. Previous: 1

2. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 3-0

The Stallions stayed unbeaten with a 20-2 win over St. John Paul II (Fla.) in their only game last week. They are averaging 19.6 goals per game. Previous: 2

3. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 4-0

The Raiders picked up a notable win when they beat Barron Collier (Fla.) 18-0 last week. Collier is 2-1, was previously ranked No. 10 and has become a legitimate power in Florida. The Raiders finished the week with a 15-1 win over Hagerty (Fla.). Carly Steinhauf had four goals and three assists in the win over Collier and tallied four goals and two assists against Hagerty. St. Thomas was scheduled to play Monday against Cooper City. Previous: 3

4. Milton (Ga), 3-0

The Eagles picked up a 20-4 win over Alpharetta (Ga.) to remain unbeaten. Eleven players scored in the win, led by Briana Carrasquillo and Skylar Carrasquillo with three goals each. Erin Degnan had three goals and won 10 draw controls, and Lauren Noonan added a goal and five assists. Previous: 4

5. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 1-0

The Crusaders, coming off their second straight NCHSAA state championship, opened with a 19-0 win over Leesville (N.C.). Grace Nelson and Ella Reaves Vaughan led the way with three goals each. Forbes Collier and Caroline Kimel each had one goal and three assists. Previous: 5

6. Episcopal School of Dallas (Texas), 1-0

The Eagles opened with an easy 19-1 win over Southlake Carroll (Texas) last week. They face 1-0 Highland Park (Texas) on Thursday in a game that will answer some questions about Texas lacrosse. Previous: 6

7. Lassiter (Ga.), 5-1

After a strong run through Florida at the end of February, the Trojans were idle last week. They return to action on Tuesday with a game at Cherokee (Ga.). Previous: 7

8. Blessed Trinity (Ga.), 4-0

The Titans stayed unbeaten with big in-state wins over Fellowship Christian and King’s Ridge Christian. They won the first 18-3, then beat KRC 16-4. The Titans are averaging just over 16 goals per game. Elise Hammelrath had five goals and four assists in the two games. Previous: 8

9. Bishop Moore (Fla.), 5-1

The Hornets picked up two more wins, beating in-state schools Edgewater 17-0 and Benjamin 9-3. Ellie Stricker had three goals and two assists against Edgewater, and Delaney Law had three goals. Stricker scored five goals with one assist against Benjamin. Goalie Cami Donadio had 14 saves against Benjamin, bringing her season total to 27 saves with just seven goals allowed. Previous: 10

10. Vero Beach (Fla.), 4-0

Longtime Florida power Vero Beach makes its return to the top 10 after beating in-state opponents Jensen Beach 14-4 and Cardinal Newman 20-7 last week. Gabby Sposato scored three goals with two assists in the first game and then had four goals and three assists against Newman. The Fighting Indians have three games this week, including an intriguing matchup with Texas power St. John’s on Friday. Previous: NR

BRINE/US LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Josie Ward, Franklin (Tenn.)

Ward was unstoppable in six games last week, scoring 26 goals with eight assists, 21 draw controls, five ground balls and two interceptions. Franklin went 4-2 in the games. Ward, a freshman, scored seven goals in an 11-8 win over Houston (Tenn.), the second of three games on Feb. 24. She had three goals and eight assists in a 19-1 win over Pope John Paul II (Tenn.). Ward compiled her stats in about 4.5 games of actual playing time.
