There were five ranked Division I women’s teams in action Wednesday, and they all came out of their matchups unscathed — a rare occurrence during a season of upsets.

Here’s how it all went down.

RECORDS AND MILESTONES GALORE FOR UCONN

Where do we start?

No. 20 UConn got five goals and two assists from Kate Shaffer in a 20-8 win over visiting Columbia, pushing the Huskies’ record to 9-1. With eight straight wins, UConn has set a program record.

An individual record fell in the game, too. All-American midfielder Sydney Watson broke her own school single-game record with 19 draw controls, helping the Huskies hold a 23-8 advantage in that category.

Lia LaPrise also had an accomplishment to celebrate, as she scored two goals — including the 100th of her career.

UConn scored the first five goals before Columbia pulled to within 5-3. The Huskies bounced back and went into halftime with a 10-4 lead.

JAMES MADISON EXTENDS WIN STREAK

Make it four straight wins for No. 12 James Madison (7-4, 1-0 CAA), which vaulted up the Nike/USA Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20 this week on the heels of an upset win over then-No. 3 Maryland. Towson was the next victim for the Dukes, who earned a 14-8 win on the heels of a 10-goal scoring burst over 35 minutes.

Isabella Peterson continued her stellar season with five goals (her third straight game with at least five tallies) and eight draw controls. Katelyn Morgan had three goals and three assists.

Mairead Durkin added to her nation-leading total with four caused turnovers.

NOTABLE

  • No. 7 Florida (7-4) rolled to a 19-5 win over Mercer on the strength of five goals and one assist from freshman Emma LoPinto. Maggie Hall had three goals, and Ashley Gonzalez, Danielle Pavinelli and Josie Hahn each had two goals.

  • Aurora Cordingley had five goals and three assists as No. 5 Maryland (9-1) earned a 15-3 win over Georgetown. Cordingley now has 250 career points after her third game this season with at least eight points.

  • No. 2 Boston College (10-1) got four goals and three assists from Caitlynn Mossman in a 16-5 win over Dartmouth. Charlotte North had one goal and three assists.
