Lopsided wins by the top five teams yielded no changes among the leaders in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20. For the fifth straight week, undefeated Florida Southern remains at number one, followed by Lindenwood, Adelphi, Le Moyne and Florida Tech. Those five teams have a combined 38-1 record thus far, with the only loss coming in a head-to-head match-up between FSC and Adelphi in mid-February.

There is the potential for a shake-up this week as the top-seeded Mocs visit No. 5 Florida Tech in a major Sunshine State Conference (SSC) showdown Saturday. The SSC has flexed its muscles against non-league opponents thus far, with the league’s top five teams compiling a cumulative 40-5 record heading into this week’s games.

Other match-ups to watch include No. 3 Adelphi at No. 10 New Haven on Tuesday, and No. 6 Limestone hosting No. 16 Rollins on Friday.

No. 2 Lindenwood became the first team to reach 10 victories this season, scoring 61 goals in three wins during the past week. The high-scoring Lions have demonstrated a stingy defense as well, limiting six of 10 opponents to five goals or less.

HOT

West Chester (+3)

The Golden Rams have been a consistent member of the ‘Hot’ list this year, and climb again this week after posting three more wins. The Rams recorded a pair of one-goal victories at Queens (N.C.) and Mount Olive, then opened PSAC play with a solid 12-6 win at then No. 18 Slippery Rock. WCU will play only conference games the rest of the way.

Mercy (+3)

The Mavericks, 6-1 overall, move back into the top ten after rebounding from their only loss of the year – against No. 1 FSC - with a 21-6 win over Thomas Jefferson. Mercy faces a non-conference test at Assumption this week before starting a stretch of eight straight East Coast Conference games.

NOT

New Haven (-4)

The Chargers dropped their first game of the year, losing 16-15 to No. 11 LIU Post in a neutral site game in Florida. New Haven nearly rallied from a five-goal deficit over the final eight minutes but their late rally fell short.

Colorado Mesa (-4)

A five-game winning streak to open the season came to an end with a 17-9 loss at No. 2 Lindenwood on Friday. The Mavericks stayed close with the Lions for much of the first half, but a 10-2 run by Lindenwood during a 25-minute stretch broke the game open .

NEW

Millersville

The Marauders move into the top 20 for the first time this year after improving to 5-0 with a 22-12 win over PSAC rival Edinboro. Millersville has dominated weaker opponents during its winning streak, but gets a strong test at No. 15 East Stroudsburg Tuesday.

OUT

Slippery Rock (previously No. 18)

The Rock had its four-game win streak halted with a 12-6 home loss against No. 7 West Chester. The Rams outshot SRU 44-16 and outscored them 7-2 in the second half to break away.
