Every Tuesday during the high school lacrosse season, USA Lacrosse updates Regional Top 10 and National Top 25 rankings to reflect the results of the previous week. Below are the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ Regional Top 10 updates through games played April 9.

The Northeast Region has a very familiar look to it after none of the first nine teams lost a game in the week to remain in place. Cicero-North Syracuse joined the rankings at No. 10 after putting away Victor (N.Y.) for its biggest win of the season. A week of quality showdowns could have major ranking implications.

McDonogh (Md.) rallied and then held off former No. 1 St. Paul’s to climb to the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Glenelg Country Day (Md.) is third, unbeaten as it heads into the tougher half of its schedule, and No. 4 Agnes Irwin (Pa.) has also been perfect early. Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) has the only win over McDonogh, something that holds a lot of weight. A key showdown between No. 6 Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) and No. 9 Owen J. Roberts (Pa.) looms this week.

The South Region had a light schedule last week and the result was very little movement in the Top 10. Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) drops from sixth to eighth after a loss to end its regular season. Vero Beach, which already has a pair of strong wins this season, moves back into the Top 10 after a pair of ranked teams lost during the week.

A light schedule as well for the Midwest Region and few losses among the Top 10 translated to few changes. The first eight remain the same led by New Trier (Ill.) and Loyola Academy (Ill.), who have traveled outside the region for bigger challenges. Olentangy Liberty (Ohio) moves up a slot after others could not keep pace, and Lakeville South (Minn.) moves into the Top 10 on the strength of its potential as it prepares to kick off its season.

The West Region features the same top four of Colorado Academy (Colo.), St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) and San Ramon Valley (Calif.). Colorado Academy and St. Ignatius Prep face off this week. Oak Ridge (Calif.) rides a big win into the rankings at No. 7 and ThunderRidge (Colo.) moves into the rankings at No. 9 after ousting a former Top-10 team.

6. University School of Milwaukee (Wisc.), 1-0

The Wildcats got off to an impressive start, topping then-undefeated Divine Savior (Wisc.) in their opener. 5. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 6-5

The Falcons have been idle since their one-goal loss to San Ramon Valley but they were set to return to play April 10 against Park City (Utah). Torrey Pines struggled early this season against a tough schedule, but showed what the team is capable of in beating Cathedral Catholic (Calif.), 14-7, on March 29. Two of the Falcons’ losses were against out-of-state teams, including Mid-Atlantic power St. Paul’s School for Girls (Md.) and Texas defending state champion Hockaday. Previous: 7
