USA Lacrosse High School Girls' Players of the Week

The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Games are considered from the previous Monday through Sunday.

NORTHEAST

Payton Sfreddo, Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.)

Payton Sfreddo is ridiculously athletic. She proved that on the basketball court this winter when she set new highs for points scored in a game (38), season (471) and career (1,577) at Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.).

And that’s her other sport. Sfeddo’s main sport, of course, is lacrosse and the Virginia-bound senior midfielder was spectacular in the Tigers’ 11-8 win over Oak Knoll (N.J.), with six goals and two assists.

“Payton provided an important spark for our team against Oak Knoll,” Sacred Heart Greenwich coach Sharon Robinson said. “She has excellent speed and athleticism and is a fierce competitor.”

MID-ATLANTIC

Aditi Foster, Penn Charter (Pa.)

Foster has been facing a wide variety of defenses designed to slow her, yet the Northwestern commit has maintained lofty scoring marks and helped Penn Charter compete against a strong schedule. Foster had 15 goals and seven assists over a 3-0 stretch for the Quakers. She led all scorers with seven goals and three assists despite being face-guarded and double teamed in the fourth quarter in a 16-15 overtime win over Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.).

Foster again topped all scorers with four goals as Penn Charter defeated previously national-ranked Agnes Irwin (Pa.) 10-6 despite being faceguarded, double-teamed and even triple-teamed during the second half. Foster finished her week with a game-high four goals and four assists in a 15-8 win over Downingtown East (Pa.) despite constant double-teams. Foster has over 100 goals in less than two full seasons at Penn Charter and is on track for 400 career points.

SOUTH

Charlotte Jackson, Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.)

Charlotte Jackson helped Cardinal Gibbons to a three-win week by contributing 10 goals and four assists. Cardinal Gibbons earned wins over Broughton (N.C.), Enloe (N.C.) and Charlotte Latin (N.C.). The junior midfielder also had a season-high five ground balls against Charlotte Latin. She is committed to Louisville.

MIDWEST

Jocelyn Park, Loyola Academy (Ill.)

Four hat tricks in four games is impressive regardless of circumstance. It’s particularly impressive when going against some of the top teams in the country. Park had four goals against Georgetown Visitation (D.C.), ranked 18th in the nation. The Johns Hopkins commit added three apiece against Paul VI (Va.) and St. John’s (D.C.), both in the “also considered” section of the national rankings, as well as The Potomac School (Va.). After finishing with 33 goals and 14 assists a year ago, Park is on pace to smash all of those marks in her senior season.

Gabriella McCollester, Fairview (Colo.)

McCollester found the net six times against Denver East (Colo.) and added one ground ball plus a caused turnover. The junior midfielder is committed to Northwestern.
