The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Games are considered from the previous Monday through Sunday.

NORTHEAST

Anna Von Kennel, Darien (Conn.)

The Blue Wave enjoyed a 3-0 week and Anna Von Kennel played an integral role. The sophomore midfielder, a two-year starter for the national powerhouse, had nine goals, four assists, seven ground balls and was also big on the circle and defense as Darien (Conn.) defeated Stamford, 20-2, nationally ranked Sacred Heart-Greenwich (Conn.), 9-7, and Greenwich (Conn.), 10-6.

“Anna has tremendous speed and quickness, which makes her a difficult matchup,” said Blue Wave coach Lisa Lindley. “She also dodges strong and has a high lacrosse IQ.”

Also notable: Kyle Finnell, Garden City (N.Y.); Meg Kenny, St. Anthony’s (N.Y.); Maddie MacDonald, Noble & Greenough (Mass.); Dylan McNamara, Sayville (N.Y.); Daanya Mir, Hackley (N.Y.); Brooke Peters, Carmel (N.Y.)

MID-ATLANTIC

Susan Radebaugh, St. Paul’s (Md.)

Senior leadership is key with any team, but especially for a younger team. St. Paul’s had a particularly young offense, but they could rely on Radebaugh and the defense to keep them in every game. The Gators allowed only 5.25 goals per game, the lowest GAA for an IAAM team in the last 15 years.

Radebaugh was a big part of the stingy defense. The senior goalie came through in the clutch with 10 saves, including one with 20 seconds left to seal a 7-6 win over McDonogh (Md.) for the IAAM Championship, their third in four years. Radebaugh also had six saves in a 13-4 semifinal win over Maryvale (Md.). She will continue her career at Florida.

Also notable: Raleigh Foster, St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.); Blair Fox, Agnes Irwin (Pa.); Caroline Hoskins, St. Paul’s (Md.); Reese MacIntosh, Southern Lehigh (Pa.); Addison McIlvain, Gerstell (Md.); Cathleen Moran, Morristown (N.J.); Sydney Richter, Episcopal (Pa.); Ryan Rodgers, St. Timothy’s (Md.); Halle Smoger, Germantown Friends (Pa.); Sophia Stoltz, Stone Ridge (Md.); Hannah Watson, Holy Spirit (N.J.)

SOUTH

Mae Flanagan, Hockaday (Texas)

Throughout the season, Hockaday has been able to rely on Mae Flanagan to give the squad an offensive spark. In last week’s state championship victory, the junior attacker fired in six goals and added an assist, helping her squad defend the title. The performance came a week after she had a nine-goal performance to advance to the state final four. Flanagan is committed to Stanford.

Also notable: Ashley Egbert, American Heritage-Delray (Fla.); Izzi Hammond, Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.)

MIDWEST

Ellie Bornhoeft, New Trier (Ill.)

Bornhoeft factors into every aspect of the game. As demonstrated in New Trier’s 12-3 win May 10 over a Marist (Ill.) team that previously had just one loss. Not only did Bornhoeft score a quarter of her team’s goals (with a hat trick), she also had an assist, three ground balls, five caused turnovers and seven draw controls. Her year thus far has also been highlighted by 12 draw controls against Hinsdale Central (Ill.), four ground balls in a two-goal win over Thomas Worthington (Ohio) and seven hat tricks in total.

Also notable: Kate Baell, Lakeville South (Minn.); Shannon Earley, Benet Academy (Ill.); Ella Mills, Lakeville South (Minn.); Maddy Paz, New Albany (Ohio); Dylan Yonover, Kentucky Country Day (Ky.)

WEST

Gabriella McCollester, Fairview (Colo.)

Northwestern commit McCollester netted six goals, four assists and had 17 draw controls in Fairview’s first two playoff games against Rock Canyon (Colo.) and Regis Jesuit (Colo.). The junior middie’s twin and teammate, Tessa, is an Army commit.

Also notable: Sophia Cuteno, Marlborough (Calif.); Morgan Gunnersen, Valor Christian (Colo.); Leslie Iorio, San Ramon Valley (Calif.); Tessa McCollester, Fairview (Colo.); Briley Volpp, Cathedral Catholic (Calif.)
