McDonogh (Md.) Rises to No. 1 in Nike/USA Lacrosse HS Boys' National Top 25
There are wholesale changes after 10 teams from last week’s Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 lost games, but the biggest change comes because former No. 1 Brunswick (Conn.) fell for the first time this season at the hands of Darien (Conn.).
McDonogh (Md.) slides up one spot to No. 1 after surviving its toughest challenge of the season from Boys’ Latin (Md.), 11-10. St. Anthony’s, which has a win over No. 4 Culver Academy (Ind.), sits a strong second.
Another top Mid-Atlantic win by Radnor (Pa.) had ripple effects while propelling the Raptors into the Top 25, one of five teams making their debuts in the rankings. Pleasantville (N.Y.) played its way into the Top 25 with a win over Shoreham-Wading River (N.Y.), and unbeatens Staples (Conn.) and Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) surround a Calvert Hall (Md.) team that lost to some of the top teams in the country before demolishing well-regarded Victor (N.Y.).
More crossover games including St. Anthony’s against last year’s No. 1, St. John’s (Md.), and several key matchups this week could alter the rankings even morer. Continue below to see the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 for this week. All results are through Sunday, April 9.
