USA Lacrosse High School Boys' Players of the Week

The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Games are considered from the previous Monday through Sunday.

NORTHEAST

Connor Kelley, LaSalle Academy (R.I.)

Connor Kelley had never made a varsity start until the 2024 season opener against national powerhouse Garden City (N.Y.) on March 30. And what a first impression the sophomore left, making 18 saves to help lead LaSalle Academy (R.I.) to a 6-5 double overtime win.

“Connor made several critical saves during the course of the contest, several coming at the end of the game and in both overtime periods,” LaSalle Academy coach Steve O’Donnell said. “These saves turned into critical possessions for us. His poise was impressive for such a young player and considering the circumstances of who we were competing against.”

MID-ATLANTIC

Luke Bair, St. Paul’s (Md.)

Bair had a huge game to help St. Paul’s hand Bullis (Md.) their first loss of the year. Tied 13-13 in overtime, Bair tracked down the loose ball off the faceoff in the Bullis end and scored his eighth goal of the game for St. Paul’s biggest win of the year. It’s the third time that the Crusaders have won by one goal this year. Just a junior, the midfielder is committed to North Carolina.

SOUTH

Daylin John-Hill, Bolles (Fla.)

Daylin John-Hill has been a prolific scorer during his time at Bolles. Last week, the senior attacker exploded for five goals and four assists in Bolles' 18-9 win over Episcopal School of Jacksonville (Fla.). He also posted a two-goal effort against Fleming Island (Fla.). The senior is committed to Jacksonville.

MIDWEST

Henry Oliver, MICDS (Mo.)

Games are won on the defensive end of the field just as they are the offensive side. Henry Oliver certainly played a critical role in the Rams avenging last year’s state title game loss when he racked up a season-high eight groundballs to go with four caused turnovers against DeSmet Jesuit. While Thursday marked a season high, Oliver now has six-plus groundballs in three of MICDS’ six games, including against St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.). The Boston University commit has also caused multiple turnovers in every game this season.

WEST

Sean Sanchez, Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.)

Senior middie Sanchez (Wagner) registered four goals, two assists and one ground ball in the 16-3 victory over league opponent Yorba Linda (Calif.). Sanchez also clinched Foothill’s double overtime win against Redwood (Calif.).
