USA Lacrosse High School Boys' Players of the Week

The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Games are considered from the previous Monday through Sunday.

NORTHEAST

Luke Shannehan, Fairfield Prep (Conn.)

In a come-from-behind win over Cheshire (Conn.), the force was with Luke — Shannehan that is. The Fairfield Prep (Conn.) junior had eight goals and two assists, including the overtime winner in a 14-13 victory. Shannehan, who also had four goals and three assists in a win over Notre Dame-West Haven (Conn.), came off a pick from Emmett Crotty to score the winner as Fairfield Prep rallied from a a pair of three-goal deficits in the fourth quarter.

“In both games, Luke scored off ball, in the ride and off his dodges,” Fairfield Prep coach Graham Niemi said. “It was also great to see him find teammates for five assists in two games as he continues to get better each week as a player. Luke is a really talented athlete who can play both attack and midfield at any point during a game.”

MID-ATLANTIC

Max Wickersham, La Salle (Pa.)

Wickersham had put up monster numbers all game, and when La Salle’s game against Radnor went to a third overtime, it was only fitting that the junior provided the assist on the game-winning shot by Paul Van Bastelaar for a 10-9 win. The win in a showdown of two of the top AAA schools in the state kept La Salle perfect on the season at 16-0.

Wickersham finished with six goals and three assists in the crucial win. On the game-winner, he hit Van Bastelaar who was coming up from the left side so he could just catch and shoot. La Salle will look to defend its Philadelphia Catholic League championship starting May 17. Wickersham is committed to Johns Hopkins.

SOUTH

Dylan Faison, St. Andrew’s (Fla.)

It doesn’t seem to matter the sport, Dylan Faison dominates. The sophomore midfielder who just committed as a sophomore to join Notre Dame’s football squad in 2026 has put up big numbers during St. Andrew’s playoff run. Last week, he posted five goals and two assists against Oxbridge Academy (Fla.). He then had a six-goal, five-assist effort versus St. John Paul II Academy (Fla.). He has 92 goals and 43 assists for the season.

MIDWEST

Spencer Reagan, Culver Academy (Ind.)

After building a 7-1 lead over host Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) in the Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Association title game, the home team began picking up momentum. As the Pioneers drew closer, Spencer Reagan and Tay Rodriguez kept them from completing their comeback, winning one key faceoff after another. All told, the Eagles’ duo won 27 of 29 faceoffs, with Reagan, a Dartmouth College commit, winning 13 of 14. With Culver's lead down to 10-9 late in the fourth, Reagan won arguably the game's most important faceoff, which ultimately turned into a key insurance goal. Both Reagan and Rodriguez have benefited handsomely from the tutelage of faceoff coach Brandon Davenport.

WEST

Deion James, Brophy Prep (Ariz.)

Broncos FOGO Deion James (Hampton) capped off his senior campaign with 13 faceoff wins and 11 ground balls in Brophy’s state championship victory over Pinnacle (Ariz.). In the semifinals against Perry (Ariz.), James recorded 20 faceoff wins and 11 ground balls.
