Coaches are the teachers of the game and the keepers of the sport's tradition. They introduce the game to new players, help develop the skills of all participants, and along the way, seek to instill a lifelong passion for lacrosse.
Studies have shown that a key factor in whether a player returns for another season is the quality of their experience with their current coach. The data also shows that trained coaches bring back more players year after year.
USA Lacrosse is eager to help you achieve coaching success. Becoming a USA Lacrosse certified coach member will enhance your experience, but even more importantly, it could be the difference in the athletic life of a young player.

4 Steps to USA Lacrosse Coach Membership
- Join or renew your membership.
- Tell us about who and where you will be coaching.
- Click the Background Check button on your profile page to start your background screening.
- Begin your journey down the USA Lacrosse certification pathway.
The background screening and online abuse prevention course are both provided by USA Lacrosse for coach members at no additional charge. You will be directed via email with information to complete steps 3 and 4 after you join or renew your membership. Membership is an annual requirement while the background screen and online abuse prevention training are required to be updated every two years.
