Top of the World

The United States is the reigning U20 world champion after beating Canada 23-6 to win the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship. The victory was the sixth world championship for the United States in eight tries since the event was first held in 1995. The U19/U20 program has helped showcase some of the top young players in the country since the event began, with several stars heading on to the U.S. senior team, including Lauren Aumiller, Sarah Bullard, Ally Carey, Kayla Treanor and Acacia Walker.

#27 Izzy Scane

Initially getting cut from the U.S. women's U19 team in 2018 wasn't the end of the line for Izzy Scane. Instead, Scane used the setback as motivation and earned a second shot at making the team. Not only did she make the team, she was one of the key players that led the USA to a world championship in Canada in the summer of 2019.

#21 Caitlyn Wurzburger

Creativity. Passion. Skill. Dedication. Those are just some of the attributes that have made Caitlyn Wurzburger one of the most electric players in the sport. Even with her senior season cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she finished her career at American Heritage with an astounding national high school record of 1,027 points. As one of the youngest players on the 2019 U.S. U19 team, she was right in her element, leading the team with 40 points in seven games.
