Player Application Process for 2025 U.S. Men's U20 Team Opens

By Brian Logue

USA Lacrosse is now accepting applications for players interested in being included in the tryout process for the 2025 U.S. Men’s U20 National Team. The U20 team will represent the United States at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 World Championship from July 18-27, 2025 in Seogwipo, South Korea.

Players must be born between Sept. 1, 2004 and July 17, 2009 to meet the age requirements from World Lacrosse for the event. In determining the tryout pool, applications will be based on numerous factors, including but not limited to:

  • Information submitted on player application
  • Video submission of playing experience
  • Playing position
  • Evaluation input from Player Selection Committee
  • Evaluation input from U.S. Men’s U20 National Team Coaching Staff

Here are some key dates in the tryout process:

  • April 22, 2024: Applications due
  • May 20, 2024 (week of): Invites to tryout distributed
  • June 28-30, 2024: Tryouts at USA Lacrosse Headquarters (Sparks, Md.)

Following the tryouts, the official training team will be named and will be invited back for a training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters from Aug. 19-21, 2024. A second training opportunity will be held in late Fall 2024 at a location to be determined.

The United States has won all nine world championships conducted at this level dating back to 1992. Originally, classified as a U19 event, it was changed to U20 following the 2016 world championship with the age grouping bumped up to U21 in 2022 as a one-time exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

C.J. Kirst was named as the Most Valuable Player in leading the U.S. to its most recent championship in 2022 in Limerick, Ireland and was joined on the All-World team by Kenny Brower, Graham Bundy Jr., Liam Entenmann and Brennan O’Neill.

The U.S. Men’s U20 National Team trains and plays using game-changing, high-performance equipment from Cascade Maverik and Warrior and best-in-class products from Enovis (sports bracing).

In addition to these partners, Gatorade, MedStar Health and Stryker are official sponsors of the U.S. National Team Program. Team training is also aided by products from Athletic Republic.

Funding for the national teams also comes from generous donors to the USA Lacrosse Foundation. Help support the team.
