Candace F. Rocha

Inducted as a truly great player, Candace Finn Rocha began her playing career as the center for Penncrest (Pa.) High School, where she was a three-time Central League All-Star and MVP. She played second home for Penn State University from 1979-82, winning the national championship in 1979 and 1980. She was a four-time All-American, the leading scorer all four years, and holds various school records, including highest individual scoring average in a career (4.56 goals per game). Rocha finished her career with 265 goals scored and 334 total points, ranking second in program history in both categories. She is school-record holder for most goals (14) and points (17) in a single-game, achieved during her sophomore year, and her consistency is highlighted by the fact that she scored at least one goal in all 58 collegiate games played in her career.

Rocha won the Broderick Award as the collegiate player of the year in both 1981 and 1982. She played for the U.S. touring teams in 1980 and 1981, and the World Cup teams in 1982 and 1986.

Rocha began her coaching career as an assistant at Penn State in 1982, and has coached at The Hotchkiss School, Lawrence Academy, Brooks School and Berkshire School. In 2016, she became the first female recipient of the Tewaaraton Legends Award.
