Chris Schiller brings a wealth of international experience and familiarity with both field and box lacrosse to the U.S. team staff.
Schiller played on the 2007 and 2011 U.S. indoor teams and was an assistant coach for the 2015 U.S. indoor team. Additionally, he won a world title with the 2010 U.S. men’s team at the FIL World Championship in field lacrosse in England.
He played 12 seasons in the National Lacrosse League, playing the majority of his career with the Rochester Knighthawks (2001-12) before finishing with the Philadelphia Wings (2012-13). Schiller helped the Knighthawks win the 2007 NLL title.
The former Penn State All-American also played nine seasons in Major League Lacrosse, playing for the Rochester Rattlers (2001-08) and the Charlotte Hounds (2013). He won an MLL championship with the Rattlers in 2008.
“Chris Schiller brings coaching experience from the last World Indoor Games and will build upon that experience,” said U.S. team head coach Regy Thorpe. “He also has a past of playing for Team USA and his passion for the red, white, and blue is second to none. Chris will be in charge of helping us build a championship-caliber defense to compete against the best teams in the world.”
