With a family legacy to follow, Pat Kavanagh is making his own mark.

Pat Kavanagh's parents were collegiate athletes, two of his older brothers have played professional lacrosse, including his brother, Matt, who won a gold medal with 2012 U.S. U19 team. But in a family of athletes, Pat is making his own mark.

After making the U.S. U19 team during tryouts in the summer of 2019, Kavanagh earned a starting spot as a freshman at Notre Dame. Through five games he was leading the team in scoring before COVID-19 brought an early end to the campaign.

That was just a taste of the impact he was about to make. In 2021, the sophomore burst into the national limelight and was named one of just five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award. Despite just a 12-game schedule, Kavanagh set a Notre Dame school record with 38 assists for the season and a school single-game record with 10 points in a win over Syracuse.

He did it with style as well, appearing four times on ESPN Sportscenter's Top 10 countdown.

In 2022, he was named a third team All-American after breaking his own school record with 39 assists, once again needing just 12 games to hit the mark and he matched his Notre Dame record with another 10-point game against Syracuse.
