3 Rob Pannell

A veteran leader and prolific scorer

Pannell, one of two three-time national team players on this year's U.S. team, is a tri-captain alongside Jesse Bernhardt and Michael Ehrhardt. Pannell has experienced the pain of losing in the gold medal match along with the elation of triumph and that experience will be counted on heavily by the coaching staff.

An all-world selection at the 2014 and 2018 world championships, Pannell could become the all-time leading scorer in U.S. men's team history. Pannell has 53 career points in his first two world championships, just 14 away from tying Mark Millon's career record of 67. Pannell's 32 points in 2014 was the second best tournament in U.S. team history, training only Millon's 41 in the 1994 world championship.

Scoring is nothing new for Pannell. He set a school record at Smithtown West High School with 130 points and then set Deerfield's single-season record with 99 points during a postgraduate stint.

At Cornell, he won the Tewaaraton Award as a senior in 2013 and finished his career with the Big Red school record of 354 points, at the time the NCAA Division I record.

In his MLL and PLL career he has been an eight-time all-star and entered the 2023 season with 541 career points, fourth all-time in pro field lacrosse history behind Paul Rabil (657), John Grant Jr. (643) and Joe Walters (565).
